Autumn Term 2015 - Newsletter 4

20th November 2015

Dear parents/carers,

Parking

I still have very serious concerns about the safety of children as a result of dangerous parking and reversing in the school carpark. Please note:

  • Parking is strictly for permit holders only (see below)

  • Cars must be parked by reversing into the marked bays only - parking along the bollards parallel to the path or  driving into the carpark and dropping children off when the bays are all full is not permitted

THESE RULES ARE TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE

Our local PCSOs visited yesterday to look at the situation and will be monitoring parking around the school (including on the road) with spot checks over the next few weeks.

Please also make sure that your children keep away from staff cars. Cyclists should dismount once they come through the gates. Staff cars have been damaged more than once.

Parking Permits

These must be displayed on the dashboard of cars using the car park and can be applied for if you have pre-school aged children or a disabled badge. If there are any other reasons that you feel you need a permit for, please put these on the form or discuss them with me in confidence.

In light of the current problems, we are asking all permit holders to reapply for their permits. These will now be issued on an annual basis and must be reapplied for each September. New permits must be displayed after the Christmas break. To apply, please complete the attached form or email the same details to office@wvcpschool.com.

Children in Need

A total of £70.15 was raised from the joke book, bringing teddies to school and cake sales. Thank you for your support.

Open Morning for Prospective Parents

Please help spread the word about our upcoming Open Morning on 9th December. This is for anyone who has pre-school age children who may want to join in either Nursery (from the term after their 3rd birthday) or Reception (from the September after their 4th birthday).

Friends of Wetheringsett Primary School

Thank you very much for all the support that has been offered after the recent plea. Sallie Bloomfield (Milly’s mum) has very kindly agreed to take on the role of Chair. If you are able to help at the Victorian Christmas Fayre and have not let anyone know yet, please do - all offers will be greatly appreciated!
