- Newsletter Autumn Term 2013 - Newsletter 3 11th October 2013 Dear Parents/Carers, Scarecrows We were delighted with the number of scarecrows that popped up all over the village and at school as part of our harvest celebrations. Thank you to everyone who took part for making this such a success. This could be the start of an annual village tradition! Please collect any scarecrows you brought into school by the end of next week. CHANGE OF DATE The date of Sycamore Tree Class’s Class Assembly has been brought forward a week to the 22nd November. WOW Newsletter Please let me know about any out of school achievements that could be included in the WOW newsletter at the end of this half term. You can send certificates, rosettes etc in to be photographed or email a photo to me. Reading Many children are not reading regularly at home. It is really important that children do so. It makes a huge difference - children who don’t, often fall behind their classmates. Ideally reading should be part of your daily routine. Remember, it doesn’t have to be in the evening, you could read together in the morning or straight after school! Uniform Please make sure your child is in proper school uniform.School is a working environment and it is important that children are dressed in an appropriate and practical way. When children wear a uniform it helps to foster a sense of pride in belonging to their school. Nail varnish should not be worn at school and earrings should be plain studs. Socks should be white, black or grey and shoes should be black without heels, and not trainer type.
