Summer Term 2014 - Newsletter 2

9th May 2014

Dear Parents/Carers,

Use of Technology Survey

Thank you so much to all those who have returned the survey sent out with the last newsletter. We have had over thirty returned! If you still have one at home, please return this by the end of next week.

Help Wanted!

We have a cupboard with many old exercise books in. If anyone has an hour to spare to go through it and audit what we have, we would be very grateful. Please contact me or the school office if this is something you could do.

We still have children without coats. Children must have a coat in school every day, just in case!

Menu Change

On Thursday 22nd May the Village Hall is being used for local Elections so will be eating our lunch in school.  To make things a bit easier for Kim we are swapping menus around for that week.

On the Wednesday we will  have our traditional roast beef lunch with the alternative being vegetarian sausages and for dessert homemade giant cookie and orange juice and on the Thursday we will be having barbeque chicken breast served with rice or vegetable ravioli and for dessert iced zebra cake.

In response to new government regulations on term time holidays, the governing body has made the decision that no family holidays will be authorised in term time. Research has shown that there is a clear link between attendance and academic achievement with children who miss out on school falling behind their peers.

Please also make sure that medical appointments are made out of school time whenever possible. In the three weeks since the Easter break, seven children have missed school for routine dental appointments!

Garden Party

The annual Garden Party will take place straight after school next Friday (16th May). There will be stalls, games and delicious cream teas. Please do your best to support the school by attending.

The Friends would like to pass on their thanks to everyone for the donations received and offers of help and remind you that donations are still welcome and can be put into the box or given to Sarah Maundrell at the school gate.

Please note, staff are not able to look after unaccompanied children during the garden party. Parents must collect their children at the end of school or arrange for someone else to be responsible for them, as on any normal school day.
