Dear Parents/Carers, Welcome back to Summer Term in Sycamore Class. Over the next term we will be following a unit of work that focuses on the theme of ‘Rainforests’. This will cover all our work in geography, art, science, music and DT. In geography we’ll be finding out
In art we’ll be finding out:
In science we’ll be finding out:
In DT we’ll be finding out:
In music we’ll be finding out:
In RE we will be investigating the Christian idea of ‘The Kingdom of God’. Our collective worship value for this half term is service. We will be focussing on this area in assemblies and also other curriculum areas. Home learning will continue to be sent home each Friday and should be returned on or before the following Thursday. Phonics and handwriting folders will be sent home each Monday. This supports and reinforces the work that the children are covering in phonics/spelling each week. Each Friday the children will be tested on their times tables. Please could you ensure that your child brings back their home learning and phonics folders on or before the correct day. All writing should be done neatly and with a pencil, rather than a felt tip or pen. Children will be heard to read regularly at school by an adult, either individually or as part of a group. It is still very important for your child to be heard to read at home daily with an adult if possible. Please make sure your child has their reading book and record in school each day. If they need their book changing it is helpful if the children let myself or Mrs Bell know at the start of the day. PE will take place on Mondays with our Premier Sport coach and with myself on Thursdays. Please could you ensure that your child has their (named) PE kit in school each day. The format for sharing assemblies will be the same as last term with one class leading the whole assembly and sharing their work. Sycamore Class will be leading the assembly on Friday 23rd May. Yours faithfully, Mrs Kirsten Sharpe |
